Experience and scope of involvement

 

Our experience is based on thirty four years working with big companies in Greece and abroad in foods and pulp and tissue paper manufacturing, with a wide range of assignments involving manufacturing management, project management and consulting. 

Our methodology, best practices and tools are based on the principles of lean management, TPM, Total Quality Management, and 6 Sigma and focuses in team building, integrative continuous improvement culture and problem solving. The areas of involvement include:

  • Production planning optimisation algorithm aiming at maintaining the lowest possible stocks and optimising the capacity utilisation in line with demand.

  • Optimisation of production batch size to maximise the customer service and reduce the stocks.

  • Continuous stock monitoring to align production with sales variability to optimise stock balancing and improve customer service (pull or demand driven supply chain).

  • Production lines efficiency monitoring (on-line, real-time) aiming at reducing equipment downtime (lost time reduction) Continuous improvement projects are used to eliminate weak points of the equipment and reduce change-over time. This is a powerful day to day decision support tool for management.

  • Maintenance planning reorganisation to achieve alignment with production (Total Manufacturing Planning - TMP) resulting in better supporting of business requirements.

  • Reduction or elimination of non-value adding activities for lead time reduction in line with the lean management concept.

  • Quality loss reduction (scrap and rework reduction) implementing 6-sigma methodology for process improvement.

  • Re-engineering of processing and packaging operations to improve productivity and process simplification by training multiskill operators and management levels reduction.

  • Factory Policy & Strategy formulation, documentation, deployment, monitoring and follow up to achieve operational excellence, cost competitiveness, alignment to capital investment plan and business targets.

  • Benchmarking studies using benchmarking model to identify the opportunities for improvement and asses the bottom line business effect. 
  • Coaching and team building to establish integrative and continuous improvement culture wall to wall in the supply chain.

  • Re-location of manufacturing plants to achieve synergies in relation to restructuring projects.
